Breathe In Balance Therapy
Hi! My name is Kelly Kolyer, LCSW-C and I provide virtual therapy through my practice Breathe In Balance Therapy. I grew up and attended graduate school in Maryland and have many years of experience working with young adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, stuck, or unsure of themselves as they navigate school, relationships, family expectations, identity, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are used to holding a lot together on the outside, while internally struggling with anxiety, depression, past experiences, ADHD, or difficulty balancing everything expected of them. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I help clients better understand what is contributing to how they feel, develop strategies that actually work for them, and build greater confidence in managing challenging times or relationships. I use a range of evidence based treatment approaches including trauma-informed modalities, CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, ACT, and EMDR. I am licensed in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts and provide culturally competent, LQBTQ+ and neuro-affirming care. I know having a therapist you trust and connect with is so important so I offer a free 15 minute consultation to answer any questions you have and to see if we'd be a good fit. I'd love to help provide support while you navigate life's next steps.

Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything you’re “supposed” to do, but still feel overwhelmed, lost, or unsure of where you fit? Maybe you’re trying to balance classes, work, relationships, family expectations, and your own goals while quietly wondering, “Am I the only one struggling with this?” I work with young adults, including first generation students of diverse backgrounds, who are navigating big transitions and trying to figure out who they are while building the life they want. This may look like feeling stuck, dealing with academic or career stress, struggling with anxiety or burnout, feeling pressure to succeed, or trying to find your place in a new environment. As a bilingual therapist and someone who is first-generation, I understand the challenges of finding yourself while balancing family expectations, culture, and your own goals. Therapy can be a space to explore your identity, build confidence, and create a life that feels authentic to you. Whether you are struggling with stress, perfectionism, relationships, grief, major life changes, or simply feeling like you’re not where you want to be, I provide a supportive space where you can feel understood and develop tools to move forward. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start therapy. Sometimes reaching out is the first step toward understanding yourself better and creating meaningful change.

I'm here to support you if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, identity issues, interpersonal challenges, difficulties with motivation and focus, healing of trauma, and/or wrestling with life's big questions. Therapy, to me, is a highly collaborative process. You are driving the bus and deciding where to go, and I am here to help you navigate through a process of deep listening, reflection, and psychoeducation. Sessions often focus on expressing emotions, needs, desires and boundaries effectively. We can also explore trauma healing, life goals, passions or spiritual beliefs. Examining communication skills and relationship dynamics helps to strengthen interpersonal connections. We can do talk therapy, or add in creativity, play, art making, music and/or movement! Sunset Momentum Therapy
Physically in California (San Francisco for those looking for in person) and able to meet with folks in Massachusetts (long story), I've been in practice for 11 years! I think therapy should be an empowering, straightforward, and welcoming experience. Forget the old-fashioned, “misty magical” and old sage men and women with glasses nodding and asking, “Hmm, hmm, okay…..and how do you feel about that?” I want our work together to be full of self-reflection and action with you in the driver’s seat. I view my role to be one of support and encouragement, but by no means do I have all the answers. I’ll be active in the room (or screen!) but I don’t view myself as “the expert” in your experience or your future. You are the star of your show; my role is to help you attain a way of life that’s better than it is now. The core values that guide my therapy work are kindness, autonomy, self-respect, and compassion. I believe we need to have respect for ourselves and compassion for others and that people have the agency and autonomy to make those decisions and do good to one another. When we respect ourselves and each other, I believe that breeds kindness. I aim to provide care to my clients by supporting them in their journeys rather than laying the path of bread crumbs out for them. Why would I interrupt and take away from your power? I believe that you are an expert on your life and have many strengths and skills, likely more than you realize. I see my job as helping you discover and start using these skills more effectively to have positive impacts on your life.
Jana Oberheu
I provide a safe, non judgmental space for you to unpack your struggles. By using thoughtful questions, I aim to guide you in finding greater insight and more awareness into thoughts and patterns. The modality I most align with is mindfulness based CBT which focuses on identifying and challenging negative thinking patterns that lead to depression and anxiety. What makes my practice unique is my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and to support them in their personal growth. I'm attuned to the themes and blocks that often go unspoken, and I'm passionate about this work because I believe healing and self discovery are powerful tools for creating a better, more compassionate world.
