Hello! I am Shanna Tipton-Green, MS, LPC, and I hold a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Addictions and Social Work. I work with all types of issues: anxiety, adjustment issues, grief, depression, issues of focus, stress, identity, sexuality. I have extensive training in the field of developmental trauma. The thing that I have found that helps people most is for me to provide a safe space where a person feels seen and heard. Connection heals. My specialities are: Neurofeedback, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EFT (emotional freedom technique), trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness training, EMDR.I basically use whatever modality works best for individual clients. If you are looking for someone to take the healing journey with you, without extremes such as judgment or rescuing, then you have come to the right place. I will remain curious and compassionate throughout my time with you. I truly look forward to working with you! Thank you for taking the time to read about me.

The students we work best with are often the ones who look like they are doing fine. You are getting the work done and showing up, but you are tired in a way sleep does not fix, and there is a low hum of dread that never fully goes away. Many of them were the ones who always did well before, so struggling feels like admitting something. What comes up most: anxiety that was manageable at home and is not manageable here, being far from family and not wanting to worry them, a relationship taking up more room than your classes, and family things that did not stay behind when you left. Our therapists are licensed across eleven states, so if you are at school in one and your family is in another, we can usually keep going over the breaks instead of starting over. In Colorado, sessions are by secure video, so you can meet from anywhere in the state. Evening times are available when they open up. You do not need a diagnosis to come in.

Change is not linear. I have come to understand the numerous challenges in life that can make you feel as if you have gone nowhere. The anxiety that sets in is alarming and the depression that may later consume you feels debilitating. However, I have also come to understand the impact that we have on our own suffering: how we often jump to "I can't" instead of "I can try." We have all found ourselves deep in self-doubt, feeling stuck in the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Are you looking for a chance to see how change and success can become more linear overtime? My approach can help you get there. My early experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has allowed me to mold the foundations of DBT with other empirically supported treatments (MI, CBT) to fit the needs of my clients. A combination of skill use, gentle challenging of core beliefs and thought distortions, as well as strengths recognition has proven effective with a variety of clients. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to provide a supportive environment that serves as a safe space for you to challenge yourself. I assist my clients in developing a natural reaction of "radical acceptance" in an effort to decrease overall suffering. Together, we can create a mindset that helps you to see your own strengths in any given situation.

I work with young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life adjustments, academic/career stress, body image, identity/self-esteem, LGBTQIA+ issues, and sleep issues. I am trained through an eclectic array of therapeutic modalities but often work through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lens. When working with sleep issues and insomnia, I am trained in CBT-I (CBT for insomnia). I prioritize meeting every client and family where they are in order to formulate an individualized treatment plan that works best for you. I enjoy genuinely connecting with my clients and their families by leaning on client strengths, values, and the authenticity of the therapeutic relationship. I find it beneficial to bring our personalities and humanness into the therapeutic process to facilitate a safe space for my clients. Life can be really messy and I'm honored to join you in that vulnerability. If it sounds like l might be a good fit for you, please reach out for a consultation! I'd be happy to connect with you.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
In-Person & Online
Highlands Ranch, CO

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), my work spans the full range of psychiatric care, from supporting individuals through acute mental health crises to helping people manage ongoing conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and ADHD. With experience in acute psychiatric settings, I understand how overwhelming severe symptoms can feel, and I'm here to help you find stability and a clearer path forward to improve your quality of life. My commitment is to treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Whether you're navigating a difficult season or working toward long-term health, I look forward to being a compassionate, collaborative partner in your care, supporting you as you work toward the goals that matter most to you. Rooted in psychopharmacology and evidence-based psychiatric care, my approach is warm, personalized, and built around you. Every treatment plan is shaped by your unique experiences, challenges, and goals because there's no one-size-fits-all path to recovery. You can always expect a collaborative environment where you feel heard, informed, and empowered to make meaningful decisions about your care. By combining evidence-based tools with a genuinely patient-centered perspective, I aim to help you find stability, build on your strengths, and move toward the kind of meaningful recovery that genuinely improves your quality of life. Growing up, I witnessed how difficult it could be for people to seek support when conversations about mental health were limited or misunderstood. That experience planted within me a deep desire to help change the narrative and shine a light on mental health in communities where stigma kept people from getting the care they deserved. It's what drew me to psychiatric nursing and what continues to drive me today. Alongside clinical expertise, I bring empathy and cultural sensitivity to every patient encounter, grounded in the belief that everyone deserves access to support, healing, and hope. Nature, travel, and good food are some of my favorite ways to recharge. Spending time outdoors and exploring new restaurants keeps me curious and connected to the world around me. More recently, joining a recreational football league has been a great way to challenge myself, build community, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

I am a therapist specializing in a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity issues, LGBTQIA+ identity and relationships, life transitions, men's health, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual health, stress management, and student mental health — working with patients of all ages. With more than eight years of experience in direct care mental health settings and a background as a former educator, I bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic relationship. I believe that healing is a collaborative process and am committed to working alongside people from all walks of life to help you navigate your challenges and discover solutions that are right for you. My practice is founded on evidence-based and integrative modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), humanistic, and collaborative approaches. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor therapy to meet you where you are. My goal is to create a space where processing your experiences, build new understanding, and work toward meaningful goals all come together, so that every session moves you forward in a way that feels both grounded and purposeful. My path to becoming a therapist grew naturally out of my work as an educator. Many of my former students sought me out specifically, recognizing that they needed someone to direct and honest with them about their patterns and behaviors. Being surrounded by therapists throughout that time, I found myself continually inspired by the depth and impact of their work. That inspiration led me here. Today, I bring that same directness into the therapy room, helping you explore how your feelings and emotions connect to your history and how patterns, often without our awareness. By shining a light on those cycles, we can begin to understand them and, together, find a new way forward. Outside of the office, you can find me practicing hot yoga, spending time outdoors, playing video games, making art, or catching up on reality TV. These varied interests keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of joy, creativity, and rest, all values I bring into my work with you.

You might be a student who looks like you have it together but feels anxious, burned out, or disconnected underneath. Maybe the pressure of classes, relationships, or figuring out who you are is heavier than you expected. Maybe you're navigating a big transition, far from home for the first time, or just noticing that the way you've always coped isn't working anymore. In therapy, we'll slow down, get curious about what's really going on, and build skills that help you feel more like yourself. I draw from a variety of approaches — including body-based techniques, mindfulness, and talk therapy — to tailor our work to what you actually need. You don't have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to show up.

I'm an LGBTQIA+, anxiety, and trauma therapist, working with students across Colorado. Do you feel weighed down by anxiety, trauma, identity struggles, or the lasting impact of religious harm? Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+ adults or survivors of religious trauma who carry exhaustion, dread, and fear from living in systems that questioned, silenced, or shamed who they are. Clients also come to me with anxiety, which often shows up as hypervigilance, burnout, or the ache of feeling like you're not enough. You may long for healing and the freedom to be fully yourself. You are not alone, healing is possible, and your story matters. I provide affirming, trauma-informed therapy rooted in narrative, somatic, and liberation-focused practices. Together we’ll untangle harmful messages that have shaped you, teach your body to feel safe, calm your nervous system, and re-author the stories holding you back. You'll reclaim your identity while moving toward a more authentic and empowered life. As a queer-affirming, feminist, and anti-oppressive therapist, I offer care that is tender, respectful, and at the right pace for you. Whether you’re healing from trauma, recovering from a harmful spiritual background, or seeking growth beyond anxiety or hard life transitions, I'll walk with you in it. Click on my website, email me, or call/text (719)-626-1427 to learn more.

Pre-Licensed Professional

As a mental health professional backed by five years of social work experience in trauma-heavy fields, I understand the complexity of how harm affects the mind and body. Now, through compassion and collaboration, I am committed to helping adolescents and adults face systemic and interpersonal challenges by utilizing a holistic approach to mental health care. Guided by a belief in dignity, I practice cultural humility, which helps me be respectful and open to other worldviews and to patients with experiences vastly different from mine. I look forward to meeting you where you are and seeing how we can make your reality work best for you. My focus is on trauma-informed care, a psychospiritual framework, and meaning-making in people's lives. You'll notice I often ask what brings you joy, incorporating that into our work together while holding space to recognize where there is dissonance in your life, how two or more things can be true at once, and what that means for your experience and relationships. I value facing fear with compassion and patience, holding immense respect for people courageous enough to ask for help, along with a belief that it is okay not to be okay. Throughout our time together, you can expect a calm, collaborative, and empowering environment tailored to your unique goals. Using a strengths-based perspective, and knowing that you are the expert on your own experience, I help you recognize what you have accomplished, even in the toughest of your struggles, and how those strengths can continue to grow. My path to becoming a therapist was unexpected: my original plan was to become a member of the clergy, and I have honored spirituality through work in interfaith ministry. Through social work, I discovered I enjoy helping people heal and grow more than leading them, which is what ultimately drew me away from that path. It started by working with people experiencing homelessness and then in residential care for students with behavioral disabilities before being drawn back to school to pursue therapy. My diversity in my professional career has led to a deep commitment to providing care that honors the whole person and is judgment-free in each session. I enjoy hiking, swimming, and biking in nature; mountains and rivers speak to my soul. I appreciate art, but know nothing about it – I just like to look. One of my more unique hobbies is seeking out spiritually diverse experiences, and I am also one of those people obsessed with the color purple.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

Denver, CO

I am a Clinical Social Worker and therapist specializing in trauma, attachment, identity, and LGBTQIA+ issues for adults. With nearly four years of experience in both higher levels of care and outpatient settings, I work with adults of all backgrounds to help you build a more compassionate and full view of yourself so you can face life's challenges more effectively. I believe collaboration is the foundation of healing. This is your treatment and your therapy, and it should be approached in a way that truly works for you. I look forward to finding that healing and a new sense of self together with you. You have the right to self-determination, and my approach centers on collaboration and empowerment to help you achieve just that. As the expert in your own life, what often helps most is seeing things from a different perspective. I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, and narrative therapy, adjusting my approach based on your current needs rather than following one rigid method. My style balances honesty and directness with compassion and gentleness, and I'm always willing to adjust and regularly check in on how I can be most effective for you. My path to becoming a therapist began with my own journey of seeking to answer questions about who I am and whether I could actually heal. Approaching myself with both honesty and love, I've found, is the path to both of those things. I hope to help you find yourself in new and exciting ways, too. I love sketching and playing guitar, and singing is a big part of my life. I also enjoy hiking, thrift shopping, and dancing.

Licensed Professional Counselor

Phoenix, AZ

Hello, I'm Mercy, a mother and a wife. Life is a continuous journey that has no end until we take our last breath! While we partake in this journey, it is well known that it can be challenging. However, one has the power to ease the pain associated with this journey through understanding when help is needed, seeking the help, and being open to accepting the support. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado in 2006 and my master’s degree in counseling in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix, Colorado Springs campus in 2012. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Colorado and Arizona. Over the course of my clinical career, I have worked and trained in residential treatment and community mental health centers including department of corrections and private practice. I consider myself a lifelong learner and crave learning new information. Due to my intensive training in Marriage and Family Therapy in graduate school, I have made this area my primary passion and focus. I have participated in extensive postgraduate training in addictions. However, I also greatly enjoy providing individual and group counseling for children and adults who are looking for support with more mild life stressors such as depression, anxiety, parenting education, health and wellness, and behavioral struggles. I specialize in family relationships, multicultural/diversity issues, grief/bereavement, depression, anxiety, anger management, and spirituality. I approach my work with a sense of humor, respect, humility, and honesty. I am honored to join my clients in their individual journeys towards wellness, leading to their brighter future. If you're ready to take the next step on your journey, I would be honored to support you along the way. Let's work together to create a brighter future.
