Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
Angelica Morse
I work with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression or have been through tough times and want to heal from trauma. College specifically can be a difficult time emotionally, moving into adulthood and living on your own for the first time. Therapy can be a great way to process these changes, learn new ways to cope with stress, and get resources and support. I'd love to chat.

I use EMDR, body-centered therapy, and the power of creativity to support you in overcoming your past, responding to your present, and reclaiming self-love and authenticity. Whether you're seeking support in navigating the challenges of academic life and beyond or are determined to address and heal from past distress, I'm here for you. Let's talk.

It's nice to meet you! My name is Erica (she/her), and I am a queer therapist working with students who struggle with disordered eating, relationship wounds, anxiety, and substance use. Are you searching for relief from constantly critiquing what you eat or what your body looks like? Then this is the space for you. Are you tired of feeling as though you aren't good enough? Or perhaps you've realized that you're coping with stress in ways that make you think "this isn't me...". Then this too, is the space for you. Many of my clients are college students who are seeking to find more internal stability, emotional regulation, and a deeper understanding and acceptance of who they are. Navigating college is difficult enough, and can feel even more overwhelming when you just can't seem to feel like you. Therapy can help you understand yourself better, feel more self-assured, and provide you with the tools to better manage internal and external stress. I offer a free 30 minute consultation so that we can meet and chat a bit more about how you need support. If you think we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out! Wishing you the best in wherever your mental health journey takes you.

You don't need a crisis to reach out. Maybe anxiety is running the show more than you'd like. Maybe a transition, a change in direction, a decision you're not sure how to make, has thrown you off balance. Maybe you just need somewhere to unload without other people's opinions weighing in on it. I also work with people looking at their relationship with alcohol or substances, whether that means active (mis)use or just a feeling that it's worth a closer look. Sessions are practical and conversational. I keep things straightforward and focused on what's really going on with you.

Kate Schettler Counseling and Creative Arts Therapy
I believe being a student and learning is an opportunity, and sometimes having a consistent therapist alongside can make the difference and help you get the most out of the opportunity. Being in school is not a singular thing, it’s not just about being the student in class who does assignments and gets the grade. In addition to being a student, there is one’s mental, physical, and emotional health, there are often bills to pay, and often the needs of others to meet. There are many other parts of ourselves and our lives that intersect with and function together with being in school. It can be overwhelming. It can be an adjustment. Transitions are big and important. There are our lives both in and out of school. Students are often also family members, caregivers, working individuals, or living with loss, trauma, depression, stress, or a medical illness. Students also learn differently, including some with accommodations for success. Some students find they need to confront an overwhelming need for perfection, or perhaps one is facing a particular challenge that is important to look at rather than look away. Therapy can be helpful when you are in school. I like to meet a client where they are at and begin by understanding you. I offer my warmth, and capacity to listen and to hold space even when the workable feels unworkable. I offer my experience and knowledge in counseling and in the creative art therapies, and hold value in an inclusive and affirmative lens. I enjoy working with students in higher education, meeting them in the places where school intersects with other parts of self that must be given care and attention, or to look more closely at or develop one’s career journey. I employ both talk therapy and the use of creative, expressive processes such as movement, poetry, art, music, story, and metaphor. The work is collaborative between counselor and client, being open about therapy goals and progress. I place value on your inherent strengths, and believe that we all hold motivation and an innate capacity to heal and be the very best versions of ourselves. Please call or email me to schedule a free consultation call.

I’m a licensed social worker and humanitarian deeply committed to supporting individuals and communities navigating the impacts of conflict, trauma, and inequality. My work centers on creating safe, compassionate spaces where healing, growth, and resilience can take root. With a background in global mental health and psychosocial support, I bring a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to therapy. I believe that healing is not one-size-fits-all—it’s a deeply personal process, shaped by our histories, identities, and hopes. Together, we’ll explore what wellness looks like for you, drawing on your strengths and wisdom every step of the way. Whether you’re seeking to process a difficult experience, reconnect with yourself, or simply need a place to breathe and reflect, I’m here to walk alongside you. I’m honored you’ve found your way here.

Whether you are struggling with perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, can't get over your last relationship, or just don't know if you want to keep going at all...I'm here to help. I struggled mentally throughout my late teens and early twenties; carrying around a lot of shame, self-doubt, and difficulty understanding why it appeared so much easier for everyone else. As a therapist, I am here to listen--not just to your stories, but for the swells of deep feeling that can lead to healing. Together, we will uncover your false beliefs that may be causing unneeded suffering and learn to trust your inner voice as a guide and companion.

Welcome, I’m glad you’re here! I am a licensed therapist, certified IFS level 3 trained, and group facilitator with a deep appreciation for the complexity of the human experience. Do you feel stuck in old patterns? Do you long for a life more aligned with your values and authentic self? Through Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy I will support you with anything you may be carrying or working through. You might be carrying a lot of responsibility and yearning for steadier support, and the confidence to follow through on your intentions. Do you struggle to trust yourself and want to feel more grounded and empowered? Perhaps you’ve been wrestling with inner critics and protective parts, feeling drained or burnt out, and you’re longing for more compassion, emotional steadiness, and renewed vitality. Through dynamic approaches of IFS and somatic awareness, I support those with complex trauma, those navigating time at University, those seeking plant medicine preparation and integration, therapists and other space holders, addiction and cycle breaking, leaders and entrepreneurs, expats and nomads, and those navigating the many layers of grief. You don’t have to struggle alone. Finding balance and well being is possible, and you deserve support that meets you exactly where you are. Together we can foster resilience, clarity, and self-trust so you can move through life with more ease. If you feel ready, I invite you to email me for a free 20-minute consultation! In my years of providing therapy, I have witnessed a clear trend. Emotional wounds heal best when surrounded by hope, support, and a sense of self. In other words, I believe that people can best heal from the past when they find what they’re running towards. Pain can leave us feeling defined by our wounds, insecurities, fears, regrets, and unwanted patterns. We can feel trapped by trauma, depression, anxiety, and desperate attempts to keep it together. But no matter how much space the darkness fills, it cannot erase the underlying “self” within us. We can shrink the darkness by understanding it, exploring how it informs our patterns, and taking necessary steps to address it. Simultaneously, we can expand ourselves by exploring what makes us care, what helps us connect, what makes us laugh, and what stokes the fire to fight for something better. It is my privilege when I’m trusted enough to help hold the pain, and an honor to watch someone embrace who they want to be.

Do you feel numb or disconnected lately? Struggling to manage emotions, stay focused, or keep up with everything on your plate? Maybe perfectionism is running the show—even when you’re exhausted. Maybe you’re using drinking, weed, or other habits to cope. Maybe guilt, shame, or feeling “not enough” hits you more than you let on. Relationships might feel confusing or repetitive, or you might find yourself always on alert, restless, isolating, or overworking because slowing down feels uncomfortable. College can also bring up painful experiences you didn’t expect—old wounds, traumatic events, or something that happened (like sexual assault or abuse) that changed how you feel about yourself, others, or the world. Adjusting socially, emotionally, and academically can be harder than anyone talks about. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work experientially, integrating somatic approaches, EMDR, psychodrama, and other in-action modalities to help you reconnect with yourself, shift stuck patterns, and feel more grounded and in control of your life again.

Do you find yourself gripped by worry and struggling to get enough things done in a day, no matter what you do? You may be constantly comparing yourself to your friends and feeling guilty that you are not good enough. You might not even remember a time when things didn't feel this way. But you are ready for some relief. You're ready to make choices in your life that line up with what is important to you. You're ready to learn new skills to feel calm everyday. Most of all, you're ready to embrace who you are and enjoy your college experience. Clients come to me looking for a psychologist who is on their side and focused on creating change, because therapy should be a place where you feel accepted for who you are and guided to find relief. I will help you understand how your brain works. I'll show up as a real person, challenge you when you need it, and be truly invested in you and your goals. As an experienced ADHD and anxiety therapist, I believe that every person deserves to feel good about who they are. You don't have to continue to feel like a fraud in your own life. Hi, I’m Shannon Gavin, LCSW. I made the move to Colorado in 2020, right after earning my master's degree in Social Work. Since then, I've had the opportunity to work with a broad range of mental health challenges, which has helped me develop a flexible and personalized approach to therapy. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I tailor each therapeutic approach to fit the unique needs and personality of the individual I’m working with. You can expect a laid-back and approachable atmosphere when we work together, but I’m also direct and straightforward when the situation calls for it. My focus is on empowering you while providing a warm and supportive space where you can feel safe to explore your feelings. Whether you've experienced inpatient behavioral health care or are seeking outpatient therapy, I bring experience and genuine care to every session. I’m here to support your journey and help you find practical, meaningful ways to improve your mental well-being.

Many of the clients I work best with are young adults navigating major transitions — starting college, adjusting to new expectations, exploring identity, building relationships, or trying to figure out what comes next. I previously worked at CU Boulder supporting students through the Early Intervention Program and Collegiate Recovery Community, and I understand many of the unique challenges that come with this stage of life. My approach combines traditional therapy with mindfulness and body awareness to help you better understand yourself, manage stress and anxiety, and build a stronger connection with your thoughts, emotions, and needs. Many people come to therapy understanding why they feel stuck but still struggling to create lasting change. Together, we’ll slow down, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and develop greater self-compassion, flexibility, and choice. If you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, I’d be honored to support you. A free 20-minute consultation is an opportunity to see if working together feels like the right fit.
