Has pain or stress affected your relationships, work, or goals? These are normal feelings for people of all walks of life and experiences. Please know you are not alone. I want you to know there is hope for you to live the fulfillment and purpose in your life and relationships you desire. If you would like to begin the journey to this kind of life, I would be happy to walk along side you. Encountering grief, anxiety, depression, and life transitions can make it difficult for you to see a path to have the quality of relationships and lifestyle you previously had, or have yet to achieve. I want to help you walk into awareness of the environment around you and make choices that can help you walk towards that life. One statement I heard that sparked my pursuit of counseling was "We just need someone to listen." If you just need someone to listen and help you as you begin to work towards the life you want, please reach out to me. I look forward to talking to you.

As humans, we are subjected to the many ups, and downs life throws at us. One of my favorite quotes that I use as a core principle to help clients is, "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." Meaning we can choose, and we have to power to regain a rich, full, meaningful life. If you are ready to break old patterns, live a life in the direction of your values, and accept all parts of yourself, then you are already on your path of personal growth. My goal is to walk alongside you through this journey and provide support and empowerment to live a heart-driven, meaningful life. I use a variety of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT). I can help you identify and build a value-driven life, help with troubling thoughts and feelings, and utilize mindfulness, to help you connect your mind and body as coping skills to better serve you.

As an Asian American female with immigrant parents, navigating being a minority, assimilating into society and finding my cultural identity was a difficult time in my life. Unresolved childhood trauma and attachment issues are root causes that make us who we are - but that doesn’t mean we can’t work to change those maladaptive patterns you learned growing up… Do you also experience generational and childhood trauma, cultural expectations that don’t always align with societal norms, low self-worth and people pleasing behaviors? Do you want to change the way you react when your feelings get the best of you? Do you want to figure out the root cause of your anxiety or depression and heal your hurt inner child? Stop the cycle and be the first one in your family to start this healing journey. I’ll challenge and support you to help identify triggers, behaviors and feelings connected to past relationships or experiences in order to change the patterns that hinder you from being your best self. Hello! I’m Hunter, and I'm a licensed psychologist. In our work together, I'm committed to the creation of a strong and authentic therapeutic relationship through which you can experience the warmth, trust, and support necessary to access your strengths and cultivate self-compassion. I integrate several evidence-based approaches to therapy in order to align with your individual needs, and I find it important to apply a strengths-based, multicultural lens to ensure that you’re understood accurately in the context of the life you’ve lived. I enjoy treating a very wide range of concerns, from the stress of life transitions to relationship challenges to chronic thoughts of suicide. I strive to treat you with warmth, dignity, and respect. I’m passionate about using therapy as a tool of liberation, as our mental health is deeply related to both the quality of our relationships and the challenging circumstances of our daily lives. My hope is that our time together can empower you to meet your personal goals and to navigate life’s adversities with meaning and satisfaction. By working together to foster self-trust, agency, and empowerment in the face of adversity and complex societal systems, I believe our work together can be an important step towards dismantling widespread systems of oppression. I know from experience that finding a therapist who feels like a great fit can be an overwhelming and exhausting process. Please feel free to explore my website (found at the bottom of this page) and to contact me by phone or email at any time. From my website, you can schedule a free consultation call that will allow us to connect more, and I’ll be happy to answer any questions that you may have. I’m currently able to accept clients who are insured in Colorado with Aetna, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Kaiser, Optum, Oscar, Oxford, and United Healthcare insurances, as well as Rocky Mountain Health Plans (the western coverage region of Colorado Medicaid), and I strive to update my in-network coverage here so it remains current.
