Therapists for college students near Durham, NC
Abide Inclusive Therapy
I've always been someone who genuinely enjoys getting to know people beyond the surface. I believe every person's story is unique, and I approach each client with curiosity rather than assumptions. Whether we're celebrating a major milestone or recognizing the small victories that are easy to overlook, I believe progress deserves to be acknowledged. I strive to balance empathy with honesty. I'll meet you where you are while also gently encouraging you to grow at a pace that feels manageable. I don't believe therapy is about "fixing" people. I believe it's about helping people better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, build self-trust, and develop the confidence to navigate life's challenges. I also don't believe therapy has to feel overly formal or intimidating. Healing can include laughter, moments of lightness, and even a little humor when it's helpful. Life asks us to wear a lot of different hats and often leaves little room to simply be ourselves. I hope therapy can be one place where you don't have to perform, just show up as you are. I am especially passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, and I strive to create an affirming, culturally responsive environment where individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and family structures feel welcomed, respected, and supported.

Victoria Pignato
Have you been struggling with anxiety, overachieving, low self-esteem and relationship issues, but found traditional talk therapy hasn't provided the relief you are looking for? I am passionate about holding a non-conventional healing space for highly sensitive, people pleasers. Most clients I work with appreciate the creative, holistic, pagan-friendly and somatic focused container that I offer. During our sessions together we will gain a deeper understanding of your struggles through inner child work and processing how symptoms uniquely show up in your body. With more self-understanding we can build a greater mind-body connection and grow your innate intuition. Through these steps I hope to empower you to create the life you want and love yourself, deeply.
LiveWell Psychology PLLC
As a licensed health psychologist, I provide support to the whole person, not one condition, and consider the biological, psychological, and social factors that may enhance or get in the way of your satisfaction in life. I seek to foster a collaborative, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment so that we can work together to create and implement a plan that leads to fulfillment. While I can assess and diagnose a wide range of conditions through assessment and therapy, I am passionate about supporting you in answering the larger questions, like, "What does this mean for me in my life? How can I make sure that my behavior matches what I value?" My goal is not about feeling better, it's about feeling fulfilled. Let's get started!

With over 25 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges, I provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs. I especially enjoy working with college-aged clients, helping them navigate academic pressure, career exploration, internship and job-related stress, and major life changes with greater confidence and resilience. My primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is highly effective in treating anxiety, depression, and the stress that often comes with new life transitions. My goal is to create a supportive, down-to-earth space where you feel understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools to move forward. Schedule a free 30 minute consult using my online calendar to meet me and determine if we're a good fit.
Cody Hamrick, OTR/L, LCSWA
Cody is a North Carolina LCSWA at Lifescapes Counseling Associates, PLLC in Apex, NC. He works with adolescents and adults as they navigate life’s transitions, challenges, and opportunities for growth. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNC Greensboro, his Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Winston-Salem State University, and his Master of Social Work degree from UNC Charlotte. Before becoming a psychotherapist, Cody spent 10 years working as a pediatric occupational therapist in early intervention, school-based, and clinic-based settings. This experience gave him a unique understanding of the nervous system, development, behavior, and the ways our environments can influence our mental health. He brings this perspective into his work with college students, recognizing that mental health is influenced not only by what happens internally, but also by relationships, routines, expectations, and the environments in which we live and learn. Cody enjoys working with college students who may be navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, autism and other neurodivergent experiences, identity development, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, or the transition toward greater independence. He understands that college can be an exciting time of new experiences while also bringing pressure, uncertainty, and the challenge of figuring out who you are and what you want your life to look like. Cody grounds his work in a person-centered approach where clients are accepted, respected, and encouraged to be themselves. He uses a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused strategies to help clients better understand themselves, build practical skills, navigate challenges, and move toward their goals. He is honored to work with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, autistic individuals, and individuals with ADHD. Outside of the therapy room, Cody enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, being with his family, and recharging in quiet moments. Population Served: Adolescents, College Students, Adults, and Parents Specialty Areas: Anxiety and depression, OCD, ADHD and neurodivergence, autism, emotional regulation, life transitions, identity development, LGBTQIA+ community, relationship challenges, and adjustment to college and adulthood
