Therapy for college, graduate students, and student athletes - social justice oriented. Queer and genderqueer affirmative. A a therapist I specialize in working with first generation college students, athletes, acculturation, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and trauma. College is tough! I specialize in anxiety, imposter anxiety, perfectionism, sleep, and mood. Are you overwhelmed trying to figure out the future while managing life obligations and feel like no one understands you? Together we will figure out unhealthy behaviors and relationships that do not serve you, learn skills to manage stress, and make changes to live a balanced, more meaningful life. I strive Likewise, I strive to provide a safe space to process unique experiences of systemic racism, injustice, and inequity. What will therapy be like? It will be a blend of discussing stress and learning skills. Don't want to talk? That's cool too- let's learn skills. I use both relational and research informed approaches (meaning research studies have found these therapies help people feel better, so they work!) including Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills.

I work with individuals navigating trauma, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and major life transitions through a gender-affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive lens. I am especially mindful of how trauma can impact safety, trust, and the nervous system, and I work at a pace that feels supportive and grounding, whether clients are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or processing trauma related to identity, relationships, or systemic stress. With experience in queer and gender-affirming care, I take a creative, individualized approach to therapy that honors each client’s lived experience. I especially enjoy supporting LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients, college students, and those exploring identity and belonging. I offer a warm, collaborative space grounded in curiosity and compassion, helping clients build self-trust and resilience at their own pace. It can take a lot of courage to consider reaching out for support, especially if past experiences made it feel unsafe or unhelpful. Therapy does not have to be rushed or forced. If you’re curious about exploring things at a pace that feels respectful and grounding, I welcome you to take that next step when you’re ready.

Welcome! I’m Dr. Constance Zou, and I’m honored to be a part of your journey towards mental well-being. My academic and professional path has been dedicated to understanding and treating a wide range of mental health challenges. I graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University with a BA in Biology and earned an MA in Bioethics from New York University. I received my MD from Yale School of Medicine and completed my general psychiatry residency at the National Institute of Mental Health, where I also completed a clinical fellowship focused on studying the connections between hormones and mood. My extensive training has equipped me to effectively treat conditions such as depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, trauma, women’s reproductive mental health, and sleep-related issues. I utilize both psychoanalytic and cognitive-based psychotherapy modalities to provide personalized care tailored to your unique needs. With over a decade of continuous engagement in medical research, I am passionate about delivering evidence based care and advancing the field of psychiatry. Part of my previous work highlighted biases and inaccuracies in the publication of clinical trials by pharmaceutical companies, emphasizing the importance of informed and safe treatment choices. At our practice, you will find a compassionate and knowledgeable partner in your mental health journey. Together, we will work towards achieving your personal goals and enhancing your overall well-being.

I’m a queer therapist who shows up with warmth, authenticity, and deep respect for your lived experience. I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ young adults who are navigating identity, relationships, anxiety, depression, and the impacts of trauma. If you feel like you’ve been stuck in place for months (or years), it’s easy to start believing your brain is just "broken." If you’re exhausted from traditional talk therapy that feels like running in circles, or if you're tired of having to explain your queer identity to a therapist before you can even get to the real work—you are in the right place.

In my therapy work, it's important that I first learn who you are, and what strengths and values you possess. We then work together to identify how patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior may be holding you back from being the best version of yourself. I use evidence-based interventions (strategies proven successful through research) within a cognitive behavioral model. My style as a therapist is warm, nonjudgmental, and active. Whether you are hoping to improve your mood, develop more meaningful relationships, or learn skills to manage emotions, I'm here to support you through the ups and downs.

Dania is a psychotherapist and art therapist working across the lifespan with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She offers a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity, creativity, and compassion. Dania’s approach is grounded in psychodynamic and attachment-based therapy. She helps clients understand the deeper emotional and relational patterns that shape how they experience themselves, others, and the world around them. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or identity concerns, Dania believes that understanding where our struggles come from allows us to recognize them as they unfold in the present, and that awareness creates the opportunity for meaningful change. She views symptoms and long-standing patterns as adaptive responses that once served an important purpose, even if they now feel limiting. Together, therapy becomes a process of disentangling the past from the present, making sense of these patterns with compassion, and creating more intentional ways of relating to yourself and others. Dania is trained in the Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR) model for processing traumatic memory and integrates talk therapy with art therapy, mindfulness, expressive, and somatic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. Working with clients across the lifespan informs Dania’s developmental lens, allowing her to see how patterns emerge, adapt, and evolve over time. Whether supporting a child, an adolescent, an adult, or a family, she believes therapy is most meaningful when it honors each person’s unique history while creating space for new ways of relating to oneself and to others.

Whatever it is that has brought you here, welcome! I work with folks facing a range of issues, with a specialty in trauma, anxiety, family conflict, LGBTQIA+ identity, and relationship issues. If you experience stress from caring for/about others and our environment, I am ready to support you. I am a climate-aware therapist, meaning I recognize climate grief and eco-anxiety as legitimate responses to a global crisis and important areas of attention in therapy to help you better navigate our changing world. In therapy, I attend to ways in which the ideas, actions and policies in our communities, cultures and families can be sources of both pain and resilience. I am committed to providing queer- and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and I believe in the collaborative exploration of all intersections of identity that feel important to you. My experience informs my work. My career in international humanitarian aid and gender-based violence lends a unique perspective to trauma-informed care. Trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I bring neuroscience and the mind-body connection into therapy. Our work will explore how the body holds past experiences and how it can help you heal. I also support people in therapeutically integrating psychedelic experiences. I look forward to getting started!

You may be newly diagnosed with autism or ADHD, struggling with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or OCD, navigating disability/chronic illness and the impacts of ableism, or looking for new ways to cope with life’s challenges. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore how your mind works, build self-understanding and acceptance, and work towards your personal goals. Together we can find ways to navigate uncertainty and live a life aligned with your values. I take a depathologizing, destigmatizing, and anti-oppressive approach to therapy. I am passionate about providing neuroaffirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and in helping clients live more authentic and values-based lives. For clients seeking support with OCD, I’m experienced in Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). I aim to create a supportive and collaborative space where you feel seen and affirmed, and where you can show up as your authentic self. We can work together to figure out which therapy approaches best suit you and your needs, and tailor therapy to your goals. While I am out-of-network with insurance, I work with Thrizer to make accessing your benefits easy, email me to check your insurance coverage. When people come to treatment with problems, it is important to remember that they are trying to cope with them in the best way they can. With that in mind, I offer a reflective and engaging partnership with my clients, working toward the goal of helping them to be autonomous, authentic and compassionate in a world that can be extremely stressful. Although my work is solidly grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive/learning, and systems theories, my approach is client-centered, practical and strengths-based. I bring honesty, warmth, and humor to the therapy relationship. I am LGBTQ affirmative and invested in doing cross-cultural therapy which is culturally sensitive. I have a dog, Bracket, who works with me, and I have been doing AAT since 2002. There is a growing body of research which suggests that AAT (Animal-Assisted Therapy) can be helpful with a range of diagnoses, including Depression, PTSD, and Autistic Spectrum. Many therapists know little about online games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life. They may dismiss it as unimportant, or assume it is a problem. I am a gamer-affirmative therapist, meaning I’m more interested in understanding your in-world experience and activity than pathologizing it.

Life Transition Counseling and Therapy: 25+ Years Experience Asian American Psychotherapist, LICSW Adjunct Professor at Boston College In Person in Brookline and Harvard Square and Virtually I work with people who have spent much of their lives managing expectations, carrying responsibility, and doing what they are supposed to do. When a major change occurs, the ways they've always navigated life may no longer fit. Together, we make sense of what you're experiencing, understand what's keeping you stuck, and figure out what comes next. I combine clinical support with practical tools to help you: Understand your emotions: Learn to relate to what you're feeling rather than ignoring, avoiding, or fighting it. Clarify your values: Identify what truly matters to you—not just what is expected of you. Reduce symptoms: Address any stress, anxiety, depression, or burnout you may be experiencing and develop skills to manage it. Build confidence: Gain the inner-strength and resilience to step forward into action.
