Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
Alyssa Klein
In 2015, I began my own therapy journey, and it truly transformed my life. Understanding myself better and gaining awareness of why I respond the way I do gave me a sense of control and empowerment that I had never experienced before. For the first time, I realized that I could change how I show up in my daily life, how I respond to challenges, and how I engage in relationships. This profound experience inspired me to pursue a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, so I could help others feel the same sense of empowerment and growth. I prioritize creating a space where my clients feel heard, seen, and validated. When they're ready, I gently challenge them to increase their self-awareness, shift their perspectives, and focus on what they can control. My approach is rooted in compassion and understanding, and I use a combination of person-centered therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help my clients process trauma, manage anxiety, and build healthier thought patterns.

I work best with students who feel overwhelmed by the pressure to keep everything together on their own. Many of my clients are juggling classes, relationships, family expectations, and their own mental health, and they're tired of pretending they're fine. I especially connect with students navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, or big transitions like starting college, switching majors, or returning to school after time away. Clients often come in feeling stuck, stressed, or unsure of what they want, but they're also thoughtful, motivated, and ready for a space where they don't have to perform. If you're someone who wants support untangling what's working, what's not, and how to move toward a life that feels more balanced, grounded, and genuinely yours, we'll be a great fit.

But beneath the surface, you’re longing for more: more peace, more connection, more truth. I work with college students navigating anxiety, trauma, self-worth, relationship struggles, and life transitions

Misty Reid
Hi, I am Misty. I work with college students, children, teens and adults who feel worn down by anxiety, low mood, stress, or health changes and want to feel steady and present again. You might reach out for support with depression, anxiety, ADHD, burnout, or trouble sleeping, yet what you are really longing for is relief, clarity, and a sense that your mind and body are finally on the same team. Many of my clients are caregivers or helping professionals who show up for everyone else and are ready for a space that is just for them, where they can slow down, be heard, and begin to restore balance. In our work together, I offer warm, collaborative care that helps you feel seen while we untangle what is happening beneath the surface. I provide holistic medication management, CBT and DBT-style therapy, help with ADHD and burnout struggles, and support for major depressive disorder. If you feel tired of carrying so much on your own, you are not alone. You deserve a space where you can slow down, be heard, and feel supported. If this resonates, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take the next step.

You’re carrying a lot right now. Maybe it feels like everything is too much, or maybe you just can’t quite name what feels off, only that something isn’t working the way it used to. You might be standing at a crossroads, unsure which way to go, or trying to move forward while feeling stuck in place. That uncertainty can be exhausting. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to show up with a plan, just a willingness to begin. Together, we’ll slow things down to explore what’s weighing on you, uncover what matters most, and find a way to move forward. I offer individual therapy for folks who are navigating difficult life transitions, exploring their identity, processing complex trauma, or just curious about how their lived experiences shape how they move through the world.
Satori Sky Counseling
Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m a mindfulness-based therapist who works with college students navigating anxiety, relationships, self-doubt, and the sometimes messy process of figuring yourself out. I offer a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed space where you can slow down, feel understood, and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we’ll work toward feeling more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you want to change, struggling in a relationship, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, we can start exactly where you are. My approach may incorporate mindfulness, somatic and nervous-system work, attachment-based therapy, and EMDR when appropriate.

Neurodivergent therapist who works with neurodivergent clients! I help adults of all ages work through trauma and grief, explore their neurodivergence, manage their anxiety and depression, build on their self-esteem, and maintain necessary boundaries in the maze of life. I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients engage with the workability of their problems by developing psychological flexibility. Psychological flexibility develops when you use therapeutic techniques (acceptance, contacting the present moment, values, committed action, self-as-context, and cognitive defusion) to take back control over your actions from any emotions, thoughts, or situations that are pushing you around. If you want a virtual ACT therapist who gets it, offers weekend and evening hours, then schedule a free 15-minute consultation call and see if we're a good fit! Sick of what hasn't been working in a world that isn't built for you? Try something new, try someone new.
Robert Graceffo
I’ve been part of the Harvard Medical School system for over a decade, first as a trainee, now as faculty member. I'm trained primarily in psychodynamic therapy, but principles/interventions from other paradigms also inform my work, and I love working with students. Ultimately, the nature of therapy depends on the patient, what they are up against, and their goals. For this reason, the course of therapy is difficult to describe, but surely only ever works in a context of empathy & respect, not to mention humor (sometimes life can only be laughed at). This is a perspective I lay out in some detail in a recently published, two-volume book, titled, "A Humane Vision of Clinical Psychology." I'm a good fit for someone looking to understand and change established patterns, and to find relief from associated symptoms. Currently, I am contracted with the student insurances at Tufts and Boston College, which make sessions very inexpensive for students. I am licensed in Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Connecticut. Very happy to arrange telehealth sessions for students in any of those states.

You deserve a safe space where you have a voice and finally feel heard. Whether you are managing a chronic illness, emotional eating or trying to find your identity, a ton of emotions can come up that deserve to be validated and supported. Surprised to hear that? Don't be! I've learned so much from my own experiences and would love to guide you on your own journey! I have a passion for helping others take back control of their lives. We do so much every day that taking care of ourselves feels impossible! With a combination of life experience and education, I help individuals that feel as though they are alone find their path to healing.

My focus is on the whole person, with special emphasis on how the mind is connected directly to the body and how a person thinks, feels and acts. Emphasis will be on wellness, with symptoms seen as calls to self-realization. MY SPECIALTIES: Individual counseling services for disorders such as: Anxiety Spectrum disorders like: Panic Attacks, PTSD, OCD, Social anxiety, Phobias, IBS, Stress management and Worry; Depressive disorders like: Mania, Bipolar disorder, Post-partum depression, and Depression; Sleep disorders like Insomnia and sleep/wake disorders Group practice: I have a team of counselors who work with me. J. Anderson Counseling
I was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. before moving to Columbia, Mo. to attend the University of Missouri. I graduated with a Bachelors of Journalism and moved to Rogers, Ark. where I worked as an editor and designer for Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and stayed in the area to attend graduate school at the University of Arkansas. I earned a Masters of Science in Counseling in 2015 and opened a small practice in 2016. I relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2020. I decided to become a counselor because -- most simply put -- I believe in counseling. Throughout my own counseling work I have come to see the value in sitting across from another person and allowing them to see all of me—my fears, my doubts, my shame, my joy, my hurt. I find author and researcher Brene´ Brown sums it up best: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

Our therapists are person-centered, action-oriented, and grounded in authentic connection. We believe growth happens when our clients feel both deeply supported and gently challenged. Our team is well experienced working with anxiety, life transitions, stress, disordered eating and body image concerns, relational concerns, depression, and athletes looking for sports psychology services. Our therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and authentic. We integrate evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and relational and attachment-based therapies. We intuitively blend these approaches help our clients shift self-limiting beliefs, strengthen resilience and self-compassion, and create meaningful change beyond the therapy room.
