Susan Futterman
My practice focuses on working with individuals dealing with trauma, grief, suicide loss, anxiety, depression, and dissociative disorders.
My approach is founded in psychodynamic theory—exploring and understanding what is stopping you from being the person you want to be. However, depending on the individual, I also draw from other approaches, including
- somatic—understanding how the body holds emotions and/or trauma and helping it to rid itself of these negative experiences;
- existentia therapyl—helping people find meaning in their lives; and
- cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)—helping to change behaviors that do not serve you.
